Wumi Toriola Tackles Desola Afod: "If You Have Any Issue With Anybody, Mention Their Names"

Actress Wumi Toriola has publicly responded to Desola Afod, who warned Yoruba movie actors in a video. Desola, who said she is 44, objected to actors who greet her by her first name without acknowledging her status, and said she would no longer tolerate it.

Wumi said Desola's generalisation about theatre practitioners was disrespectful and insulting: "If you have any issue with anybody, Desola Afod, kindly mention their names." She added that the Yoruba movie industry earns her living and she would not accept anyone disrespecting it: "If others are calling us names, it should not be from you."

Wumi also said Desola had joined an earlier disagreement while she stayed silent, out of respect for Desola's former husband, actor Kunle Afod.
