Actor Yul Edochie has publicly disagreed with Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre. In a sermon titled "The Divine Nature of the Blessing," Enenche urged congregants to reject anything not sourced from God, described certain behaviours as "dark practices," referenced occult-linked activities such as "Yahoo Plus," and criticised Christians who still take part in traditional festivals in their villages.
On 9 October, Yul quoted a clip of the sermon on X and wrote: "Pastor I disagree with you. You're misinforming the people." He argued that traditional practices are not fetish, that Africans worship the same God in different ways, and that traditional practice differs from using juju to hurt people.
The post divided X. Some users rejected the idea that different traditions lead to the same God, citing Christian scripture, while others backed his call to value African traditional spirituality.
