Traditionalist Sam has responded to gospel singer Tope Alabi over her comments about Ifa worshippers. According to Legit.ng's second-hand account, Alabi remarked during a performance that people who used to practise traditional religion privately now openly display it on social media.
In a Yoruba-language video posted on Instagram on 7 October, Sam insulted Alabi and alleged she uses substances, claiming her controversial statements come out when she is under their influence. He also claimed that the late cleric Iretiola Ajanaku, whom Alabi praised in her songs, secretly practised Ifa, and argued that prominent academics are open Ifa worshippers. Legit.ng does not verify any of these claims.
Fans were divided. One commenter defended Alabi: "She's right! Everyone insulting her are either myopic in nature or they simply do not understand her!"
