Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, the APM presidential candidate, has pledged to serve a single four-year term if elected. Speaking at an APM North-East town hall in Yola, Adamawa State, he promised a transitional government of national unity from 29 May 2027: "Our government will not last beyond four years."

He demanded that the Federal Government publish its petroleum pricing template, and criticised its handling of CNG, electric vehicles, the naira-for-crude initiative and its electricity promise. "The fact that you are in government or the Presidential Villa does not make you the only Nigerians with sense," he said.

Makinde said the party delayed its manifesto to consult stakeholders. Joining him at the event were APM National Leader and Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed and vice-presidential candidate Lawal Daura. "2027 will mark the end of the politics of lies and deceit," he said.
