Instagram has started testing a feature that allows chosen creators to post videos up to 90 minutes long. According to Vanguard, the Meta-owned platform aims to host full interviews, comedy shows, and podcasts natively rather than pushing users elsewhere.
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri revealed that the company changed its earlier stance against extended clips to better support content makers. Users watching short clips can now tap a prompt to view the full horizontal version without exiting the mobile application.
The company is also expanding its television app compatibility and testing tools to group episodic shows together. However, Vanguard reported that the social media giant has not yet revealed a full monetization model for creators publishing longer video formats.
