Ladi Adebutu, the PDP's governorship candidate in Ogun State, has reacted after INEC's final list left out his name and his running mate's. In a statement to Ogun residents on his X account on Sunday, 11 October, he wrote: "I remain a duly registered member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)."

According to Legit.ng, Adebutu says he completed his digital membership registration within the stipulated period, that his membership card was printed and verified, and that his documents reached INEC before the deadline. He noted that candidates of other parties in other categories appeared on INEC's lists while he did not. "The party has spoken, and the necessary steps are being taken to address this matter," he said.

He pointed to what he called undue pressure from the ruling APC on INEC as a possible factor, and cited restrictions on PDP billboards, attacks at campaign events and harassment of party members. He urged supporters to stay calm. What is still missing: the report carries no INEC response, no stated reason for the omission, and no evidence for the pressure claim. The Ogun PDP has made a similar accusation against the APC, per newspaper reviews on Monday.
