Gospel Singer Toluwanisings Dies at 41 After Hospitals Turn Him Away
Popular Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings, has died at the age of 41. His family confirmed the news on Wednesday, October 14, saying he passed away in the early hours of the day.
His personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo, told BBC Yoruba that the singer slumped at home in Ibadan and was rushed to seven or eight hospitals. Some facilities reportedly turned them away, citing a doctors’ strike, including the University College Hospital.
Toluwanisings had performed at Bidemi Olaoba’s worship concert less than 24 hours earlier. He is survived by his wife and children. Burial arrangements will be announced later.
