Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has reacted to his important spot-kick stop during his team's away tie against Parma, Daily Post reports. The Italian club had lost six consecutive league matches prior to this fixture before finally securing a valuable point.
The Nigerian international initially made an error by failing to handle a corner kick, leading to a penalty when the ball touched James Abankwah’s arm. However, Okoye redeemed himself by stopping Adrian Bernabé's penalty attempt, earning the Man of the Match award.
Speaking via the club's official website, the Super Eagles shot-stopper expressed satisfaction with gaining a point despite aiming for a victory. He noted that bad luck and missing key teammates like Zaniolo contributed to their recent poor form, adding that the squad is focused on their upcoming fixture.
