Former Google West Africa director and Beyond Limits founder Juliet Ehimuan has urged African creators and tech innovators to move beyond basic content making towards building sustainable businesses. Vanguard reported that she stated this during a keynote talk on AI and creativity at Moonshot 2026 on Thursday.
According to Vanguard, Ehimuan noted that the continent's creative sector currently contributes less than two percent to gross domestic product. She urged innovators to secure their intellectual property rights, explaining that ownership unlocks various revenue channels, such as turning written books into video series or monetising podcasts across markets.
The tech leader outlined key priorities for the region, emphasizing artificial intelligence adoption, asset ownership, and scalable business models. She advised African businesses to leverage modern technological tools to boost overall productivity, safeguard their creative permissions, and build distinctive products capable of reaching wider global audiences.
