2027: I Will Resign If Nigeria Fails To Change In One Year, Says Amaechi
ADC vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi promises to resign if an Atiku-led government does not bring positive changes to Nigeria within its first year.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has argued that educated citizens are behind some of the nation's most destructive corruption scandals, institutional abuses, and financial fraud. He stated that the governance troubles facing Nigeria stem from a deficit of conscience rather than any shortage of intellect.
The governor shared these views on Friday in Abuja while presenting the convocation lecture at Veritas University's 15th Convocation Ceremony. His presentation was titled 'Building the Nigeria We Want: The Role of the Educated Mind,' according to Vanguard.
Mutfwang explained that complex financial crimes, money laundering, contract inflation, and systemic sabotage are often carried out by individuals with advanced academic certificates and professional training. He cautioned that learning without strong moral values poses a serious threat to national progress.
The governor noted that acts like doctored public accounts, state capture, and prebendalism are rarely designed by uneducated people. He pointed out that while trained minds remain the nation's greatest prospect, they turn into dangerous threats whenever they lack ethical restraint.
Mutfwang also referenced internet fraudsters, commonly called Yahoo boys, as evidence of people using sharp brains for destructive ends. He stressed that Nigeria boasts brilliant minds across various fields but has struggled to turn this expertise into accountable governance and meaningful growth.
He urged the new graduates not to evaluate their achievements merely through money, status, or job titles. Instead, he challenged them to combine their technical knowledge with a functional conscience to genuinely help their communities.
