Group Rallies South-South Youths and Women for Tinubu 2027 Re-Election Bid
The 'Tinubu Must Stay' group has urged South-South youths and women to back President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid to sustain regional development.

Segun Adeyina, a Nigerian-American lawmaker re-elected to the Georgia House of Representatives, has stated that American voters focused on personal economic survival rather than political slogans during the US midterm elections.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program on Friday, Adeyina explained that citizens cast their ballots based on practical daily concerns. He noted that key issues on voters' minds included their ability to pay rent, afford mortgages, buy groceries, and secure healthcare.
According to Channels TV, the politician asserted that affordability challenges heavily influenced the outcome of the elections. He suggested that President Donald Trump's administration failed to address these rising expenses, adding that involvement in the conflict in Iran further heightened living costs for average American households.
Adeyina described the Democratic victory as a massive outcome, referring to it as a "blue tsunami" driven by public discontent over financial strains. Reflecting on his own victory in Georgia's House District 110—which covers areas such as Grayson, Lawrenceville, Loganville, and Snellville—he stated that his re-election to a third term demonstrated the trust his constituents have in his service since his initial 2022 election.
The Nigerian-American politician was not the only person of Nigerian heritage to achieve electoral success. Channels TV reported that several other Nigerian-Americans won legislative and local government seats across various states, including Will Jawando, Junior Ezeonu, Oye Owolewa, Solomon Adesanya, Carol Kazeem, and Gab Okoye in Maryland, Texas, Washington, D.C., Georgia, and Pennsylvania.
