Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has advised National Youth Service Corps members posted to the state to stay away from local politics during their primary assignments. His address was delivered by the state scheme coordinator, Kuburat Omowumi Bakare, at the orientation camp in Ikare-Akoko, Vanguard reported.
According to Vanguard, the governor urged the young graduates to conduct themselves properly and respect the customs of their host areas. He also requested employers, local council officials, and traditional leaders to offer proper guidance, accommodation, and support for the youth corps members' community development initiatives.
Aiyedatiwa promised that his government would partner with security agencies to protect corps members across the state. However, he warned them against exposing themselves to danger through late movements, accepting lifts from unknown persons, or engaging in illegal acts like internet fraud and substance abuse.
