Polish police are investigating an alleged plot to assassinate Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, who is also deputy prime minister. Police spokesperson Karolina Galecka said in a statement on Sunday that the Interior Ministry ordered "action to be taken in this matter."
Police, the state protection service and ministry representatives held an emergency meeting on Sunday. Special services spokesperson Jacek Dobrzynski said authorities were treating the information as "serious." Radio Zet reported that police received an email containing information about the threat.
No further details about the plot or its origin were immediately available, and neither Tusk nor Kosiniak-Kamysz had commented at the time of publication.
