The Peoples Democratic Party and other opposition voices have demanded transparency and a probe into the ₦15 trillion Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, accusing the Federal Government of secrecy following a route realignment.

Minister of Works David Umahi attributed the diversion to terrain and climate challenges. Critics, including campaigns linked to Makinde and others, call for publication of procurement records, costs so far, and engineering assessments.

The project remains a flagship of the Tinubu administration but has drawn sustained scrutiny over cost, process, and environmental impact.
