Nigeria's celebrity boxing craze delivered two more knockouts. Comedian Carter Efe defeated rapper Speed Darlington by knockout, and Big Brother Naija star Phyna beat actress Nkechi Blessing in a four-round female celebrity bout, dropping her in the fourth round.
Phyna's win came with ₦50 million from trading and entertainment platform Worldstreet, plus an electric vehicle. The bout was the first female celebrity fight staged by promoter Balmoral Group. Phyna said she wants to turn professional and challenged Etinosa, who replied: "Challenge accepted."
Speed Darlington has since shared what he thinks went wrong in an Instagram video filmed on a rooftop. He didn't concede that Carter Efe was simply the better fighter. Fans were split between sympathy and amusement, with some urging him to drop the idea of a rematch, and one joking: "Congratulations Akpi. You are my winner."
Earlier, Charles Okocha won a rematch with Portable in the "Chaos in the Ring" event and then challenged Carter Efe.
