The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement has criticised the Nigeria Democratic Congress concerning the rollout of its National Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to Punch, the group questioned the readiness of the political party, claiming that the movement possesses a far superior grassroots network across the nation.
The OK Movement’s Director-General, John Ughulu, stated in Abuja that the party delayed excessively in assembling its campaign team. He argued that political aspirations without solid local mobilisation would fail, adding that most council appointees would eventually rely on the movement's existing network for election support.
This disagreement follows the NDC naming Senator Seriake Dickson as council chairman alongside Peter Obi as co-chairman, while omitting movement officials. Dickson had previously dismissed the support group’s bid to operate an independent campaign body, stating that outside groups must assist political parties instead of running rival operations.
