Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau has declared that President Bola Tinubu is well-positioned to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election, according to Punch. Barau stated this on Sunday during the inauguration of campaign committees for Dawakin Tofa, Tofa, and Rimin Gado Local Government Areas in Kano State.
In a statement released by his media assistant, Ismail Mudashir, the lawmaker explained that evaluations by political analysts and current political circumstances in the country favor the president's re-election. He expressed confidence that the groundwork established during Tinubu's first term would yield positive results during a second term.
Barau urged members of the All Progressives Congress to remain united and work vigorously to ensure success for all party candidates in the forthcoming general elections. He described Kano as a major political hub with the second-largest voter population after Lagos, emphasizing that the state deserves greater attention and development from the federal government.
The Senate leader also commended Governor Abba Yusuf's move from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the APC, calling it a strategic decision. He noted that aligning the governor, local council chairmen, state legislators, and federal lawmakers under the ruling party would help bring tangible benefits to the citizens of Kano.
