An Abuja-based businessman, Safwan Garba, and his company GY Global Oil have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing a son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of collecting $2.1 million in connection with an Abuja land deal.

The claimants say the payment was made for land allocation that has not materialised as agreed. The EFCC is expected to investigate the allegations. The story has intensified scrutiny on land administration in the Federal Capital Territory.
