President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states starting Friday, where he will commission completed infrastructure projects and join All Progressives Congress campaign events, Channels TV reported.

The presidential itinerary was announced in a Thursday statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. According to Onanuga, the Nigerian leader will first land in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, to launch several projects executed under Governor Umo Eno’s administration before attending a political rally.

Among the projects listed for inauguration in Akwa Ibom are a newly built international terminal building, an airport hospital, and the Ibom Aviation Village located at Victor Attah International Airport. The President is also expected to commission the Airport-Okopedi Road linking Nsit Atai and Okobo local council areas, as well as Ring Road 3 connecting Uyo and Ibiono Ibom via Idoro Road and Ikot Ekpene Road. Other commissioned sites will include the ARISE Palm Resort, an office facility for AKWA-GIS, and a Command and Control Centre.

To enable residents to receive the President, Governor Eno has declared Friday a work-free day across Akwa Ibom State. Following his engagements in Uyo, Tinubu will travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday to participate in another APC gathering.

The planned gathering in Rivers State will mark the President's third rally since launching his re-election drive in Kaduna State last month, Onanuga noted. The presidential spokesperson added that Tinubu had earlier clarified in Abuja that his primary governance duties, national financial commitments, and effort to attract investors would limit his personal appearances at every state campaign event.
