The Kwara State Government has granted approval for the payment of the 2026 bursary scheme to state indigenes currently enrolled in higher institutions across Nigeria, according to Punch.
The management of the Kwara State Scholarship Board revealed in a statement on Saturday that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq sanctioned the financial assistance to lessen the cost of higher education for students and their families.
According to the scholarship board, the application portal will begin accepting submissions on Monday, November 2, 2026, and will remain open until Monday, November 16, 2026. Qualified students are expected to submit their details through the official state portal at scholarship.kwarastate.gov.ng.
Applicants were advised by the board to supply accurate and verifiable details during registration. The board also instructed prospective beneficiaries to follow all guidelines listed on the platform to avoid problems during the filing process.
Lawal Olohungbebe, the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development who also acts as Supervising Commissioner for Tertiary Education, commended Governor AbdulRazaq for authorising the funds.
Olohungbebe described the move as a sign of the government's devotion to student welfare and educational growth. He added that the initiative would provide relief to parents while expanding access to higher learning for Kwara indigenes.
