Nigerian forward George Ilenikhena continued his impressive goal-scoring run by opening the scoring for Al-Ittihad in their 2-0 victory over Al-Diriyah. According to Punch, the striker netted in the 30th minute after reacting quickly to a rebounded shot at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
The win came shortly after another strong display where Ilenikhena recorded a goal and an assist in a 4-1 triumph against Al-Ettifaq. Georginio Wijnaldum later sealed the latest victory with a second-half penalty, helping lift the Saudi Pro League side to fourth position with 21 points.
The former Monaco attacker has now accumulated eight goals and three assists in eight league starts this season. Speaking to local journalists, Ilenikhena expressed delight over the team's swift bounce back following two prior defeats, highlighting the necessity of their strong response on the pitch.
