Police Public Relations Officer Abutu Sunday announced on Saturday that operatives from the Rapid Response Squad tracked the suspects down to their hideout in the Atikankan district. The raid took place around 10 p.m. on Friday after law enforcement officers acted on a credible tip-off.

Police authorities also confirmed that Sowore and other victims who suffered injuries during the assault received medical attention and have been discharged from care.
Officers recovered various items from the hideout during the operation. These included two walkie-talkies, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and Colorado, two drug crushers, rolling paper packs, seven bank ATM cards, 13 mobile phones, eight international passports, vehicle keys, identity cards, suspected criminal charms, and ₦250 cash.
The Commissioner of Police, Falade Michael, assured the public that thorough investigations are ongoing to determine the specific role played by each suspect and identify anyone else involved in the physical assault. He promised that the command would ensure everyone found guilty of participating in the attack is brought to justice.
In response to the arrests, Vanguard reported that Sowore took to his X page to demand that security agencies uncover and punish the alleged masterminds behind the incident. The AAC candidate described the event as a coordinated assault, alleging that some attackers were linked to a group known as City Boys, while calling on law enforcement to investigate potential ties to state government officials.
