President Bola Tinubu has nominated six executive directors to serve in the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority. He has forwarded their names to the Senate for screening and confirmation, according to a report by Vanguard citing presidential aide Bayo Onanuga.
The nominees include three returning officials and three new appointees, who are expected to serve a five-year term if confirmed. The returning directors are Abiodun Adeniji, Ogbugo Kalu Ukoha, and Dr Mustapha Lamorde, while Mobolaji Tajudeen Musa, Ogechukwu Modie, and Said Abutalib are newly appointed.
Tinubu urged lawmakers to promptly confirm the individuals to maintain stability and improve operations at the agency. The president also approved Mrs Jumoke Gafar as board secretary and legal adviser, pending the completion of requirements outlined in the Petroleum Industry Act.
